SUMMARY:LOOKS - Free Online Documentary Premiere on Oral Health and Facial Development
DESCRIPTION:LOOKS is a feature-length documentary built on a subject that tends to be treated in isolation\, oral health\, and puts it back into a whole-body picture. The premiere is a free online screening with no registration. \nThe film follows how the mouth and the airway shape the growth of a face\, and how that connects to breathing\, posture and development that begins in early childhood. It then widens into orthodontics\, aesthetic medicine\, design and psychology\, asking why appearance carries so much weight in ordinary life. Specialists from several fields carry the argument\, and the film does not resolve their disagreements for them. \nAround a third of the running time is animation and mixed visual technique\, which allows developmental processes to be shown rather than described. That makes the film usable as a patient-facing explanation of things practitioners spend a great deal of time putting into words. \nIt is produced by Pawel Lipka\, whose earlier credits include animation for The Garfield Show and visual effects for the feature film Suicide Room.
