I am an experienced clinic owner in Langford BC. I am currently active in the BCND at the committee level and understand the time commitment required. I have seven years of previous board experience at the BCND including three as chair. I have met with and promoted our profession to MLAs, ministers, a premier, as well as a variety of other non elected officials. I care about maintaining our scope of practice so we can continue to provide high quality care in our communities.
I have been in practice for over 15 years as a business owner in the same practice with my wife and partner Dr Sonya Jensen ND at Divine Elements Naturopathic in Kitsilano, Vancouver. I have had many mentors over the years to deepen my passion for the roots of our medicine but also to be in the position of experimentation with the many new and innovative tools, tests and applications of the craft. I provide extensive education to the community via our Youtube channel/social media, online courses, group programs and podcast (The Doctor Dads podcast) with a wide variety of Medical experts, Influencers, Product Developers and Change Makers.
I feel I would be an asset to the board as I offer the perspective of a successful business owner, a Father, a Husband who shares a practice with his Wife, and as a Podcaster with a wide net of connections to many different experts. I thrive in an environment that creates an opportunity to network, collaborate and that offers a space for nuanced open dialogue. I live and breathe the principles of Naturopathic medicine and am extremely disciplined in my lifestyle practices that honour the spirit of our medicine. I am eager to learn the workings of the board, to get up to speed on the goals/mission and will do my best to fill the necessary role and contribute to the mission of advancing our profession.
It has been a privilege to serve on the BCND Board of Directors over the past two years. Although often demanding, I have enjoyed my term on the board, particularly working collaboratively with colleagues and liaising with key individuals regarding our scope of practice. Since assuming the role of presidency, I’ve been able to better understand the challenges facing the profession, and work proactively to seek lasting change. I hope the membership will trust me to continue this work.
After graduating from BINM in 2017, I joined the longstanding Vancouver Naturopathic Clinic. My practice is varied and I integrate a variety of modalities in my practice including advanced injections, oxidative medicine, IV therapies, and acupuncture. I also hold my immunization certification. My urban practice has been complimented by part-time rural practice on Vancouver Island. These two very different clinical experiences have together informed my approach to patient care and my commitment to the growth and expansion of our profession.
I have a deep appreciation for the roots of naturopathic medicine. Our collective philosophy is the undercurrent of both my clinical practice and my work as a BCND director. As the needs of our patients change and the health care landscape shifts, naturopathic medicine must evolve to meet these changes, while honouring the uniting principles. As we head into a new era of health care regulation in this province, I recognize the important roll of BCND in representing the diversity of our members and supporting the patients they serve.
I have been a full-time practicing naturopathic doctor since the beginning of 2018. I feel that I have gained a lot of perspective and experience being a more rural naturopathic physician from the onset, living and working in Revelstoke, BC. With a full and busy family practice since the moment I opened my doors, I have gained a vast amount of experience in a wide variety of conditions, patients, and treatments. I have opened and run my own clinic for 5 years, and within the last year or so have also entered contract-based employment, which has offered me a wide variety of employment and leadership experiences. Twice a month I also travel 3 hours to an underserved community and have come to see the many benefits and limitations of being a naturopathic doctor in different parts of the province. On top of all my professional experiences, I am also a mother of a bright 3-year-old daughter that keeps me on my toes, and gives me the added perspective of a working mother who has a passion for her work, but also is fully committed to being the best mother and parent I can. I would very much love to represent my fellow colleagues on the board, and the diversity of voices that we have across the province.
As a dedicated naturopathic doctor, I bring a unique blend of allopathic and naturopathic medical backgrounds to my practice, aiming to bridge the gap between conventional and holistic approaches to healthcare. With a special focus on family wellness, I consider myself a primary care provider for all ages, drawing upon my experience as a mother of two boys to emphasize the importance of early prevention and education in maintaining long-term health.
My current practice centers on addressing chronic and autoimmune diseases, utilizing protocols such as Dr. Coimbra’s alongside dietary modifications, herbal remedies, homeopathy, and innovative therapies like IV treatments and biofeedback.
Additionally, I specialize in pediatric health, tackling conditions like ADHD and ASD with a combination of the Walsh protocol, dietary adjustments, and homeopathic remedies.
Recognizing the interconnectedness of mental and physical health, I also work extensively with adult patients experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorders, employing a holistic approach that integrates various modalities tailored to each individual’s needs.
Furthermore, I’m committed to optimizing hormone balance in both men and women through comprehensive testing, lifestyle modifications, and innovative treatments like bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and Total Body Modification (TBM).
Additionally, I offer expertise in addressing digestive issues such as SIBO and candida through a combination of biofeedback, herbal remedies, and dietary interventions.
Throughout my practice, I prioritize building strong connections with my patients, listening attentively to their stories, and guiding them with personalized care along their health journey. I firmly believe in the body’s innate ability to heal when provided with proper support and guidance.
Licensed with the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC and a member of several professional associations, including the Canadian and BC Naturopathic Associations,
I am committed to upholding the highest standards of naturopathic care. I continue to expand my knowledge through advanced training and certifications, ensuring that she remains at the forefront of integrative medicine.

Dr. Allen (Scott) Tyler is a second generation Naturopathic physician, following in his father’s footsteps.
