New Membership Application

The BCND is the professional association for naturopathic doctors in BC. We act on behalf of and for the profession to promote the services provided by and the integrity and honour of the naturopathic profession.

Membership Overview

BCND/CAND membership is an annual commitment with a 5% discount applied to all doctors dues paid in a lump sum in January of each fiscal year. although we encourage yearly lump sum dues payments, members are permitted to pay on a monthly basis. membership is broken down into three areas, showcased in the icons below. The BCND remits dues to CAND on behalf of its members. GST is applied only to the CAND portion of dues.

New Grad (Sign Up Here)
Eligible for a discounted rate of $78 monthly for doctors who join within twelve months of graduating from naturopathic college. BCND dues are reduced to $60 per month, from the year a doctor joins and for the two following years. CAND has a staggered reduced dues plan, initially $18 per month. Lump sum payments made in January, for the entire year, are eligible for a 5% reduction in total fees. click here to apply.
BCND Member
Applicants who have been in practice for more than one calendar year do not qualify for the New Grad status. Doctors who graduated more than one year before joining BCND do not qualify for New Grad status. For those doctors, BCND dues are $80 per month. CAND dues are added to that amount.

BCND offers annual student memberships to any individual currently enrolled in an accredited naturopathic college. The fee is $50; student memberships run September 15 of one calendar year to September 14 of the next calendar year. For full details and benefits, click here.

Once I have applied to the BCND, do I have to apply to the CAND as well?

No. BCND / CAND membership is combined. Once your application has been approved, the BCND automatically completes your registration with the CAND on your behalf.

What should I choose as my official start date?

Ideally your membership start date should be your intended first day of practice.

How do I obtain malpractice insurance?

The BCND & CAND has a long standing agreement with a company called Partners Indemnity to provide naturopathic doctors with malpractice insurance. Partners Indemnity covers the full scope of practice for licensed NDs in Canada. Partners head office is located in Toronto, ON and must be contacted to obtain the naturopathic application forms. They can be reached toll free at 877.427.8683

Applicants who do not have their CNPBC licence number will be required to submit their PRELIMINARY CONDITIONAL APPROVAL LETTER from the CNPBC, before membership can be approved.

IMPORTANT: Malpractice insurance is not available until your start date.
