ICBC Integration
BCND is working diligently to expand the range of services offered by ICBC to include naturopathic doctors (NDs). Currently, ICBC coverage for patients injured in motor vehicle accidents is limited, and NDs are not yet fully integrated into the list of recognized healthcare providers for claims related to rehabilitation and recovery. This creates barriers for patients seeking holistic, non-invasive treatments as part of their recovery process.
Naturopathic doctors play a key role in managing and rehabilitating injuries, particularly through natural therapies such as acupuncture, botanical medicine, and physical medicine, which can complement conventional treatment methods. By expanding ICBC coverage to include naturopathic services, patients will have greater access to comprehensive care that addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of healing.
BCND is actively engaging with ICBC and government officials to advocate for the inclusion of NDs in the insurance plan, ensuring that injured individuals have access to a broader spectrum of care. We are committed to working with our partners across healthcare to help make ICBC’s offerings more inclusive, supportive, and patient-centered, reflecting the diverse needs of British Columbians in their recovery journey.
