Romi Fung
Dr. Romi Fung, ND, M.Sc, Ph.D (cand.) supports patients living with cognitive decline improve their quality of life by taking an integrative and functional approach. Dr. Fung believes that there is more to dementia than just working with the brain; there are many metabolic and biochemical factors that affect our brain stemming from the body. It is not as if our brains (and heads!) are detached from the body. But rather, what happens in the body also happens in the head. This is why he believes naturopathic medicine takes a powerful stance at addressing these factors that affect our brains. He takes a comprehensive approach in working with his patients, from screening for inflammation, insulin resistance, and hormones while working on their lifestyles – all of which contribute greatly to our brain health.
On top of his practice, Dr. Fung is currently Academic Faculty where he teaches Traditional Asian Medicine at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine – Boucher Campus. Dr. Fung also supervises senior interns at the Boucher Naturopathic Medical Clinic. Dr. Fung is an avid speaker and has empowered over tens of thousands of lives educating the general public, fellow naturopathic doctors and medical doctors on brain health and dementia prevention with his clear yet gentle approach.
