Voting

BCND uses Simply Voting, an online elections platform for the purposes of voting for BCND Board Directors and the Fee Schedule.

Simply Voting ensures secure and reliable online elections through robust security measures and flexible authentication options. Each voter receives unique login credentials. Simply Voting supports integration via methods such as SAML, OpenID Connect, LDAP, CAS, and HTTP(S) authentication, enabling seamless single sign-on experiences. The platform employs TLS 1.3 encryption for data transmission and AES-256 encryption for data at rest, ensuring all votes are confidential and tamper-proof. Additionally, Simply Voting’s infrastructure includes daily security scans, regular penetration testing, and compliance with industry-standard security guidelines to maintain the integrity and reliability of the election process.

Per BCND bylaws voting for Board Directors and the 2026 Fee Schedule will occur prior to the AGM and will run from March 26-April 8, 2026.  All eligible voters will receive voting details to the email on file once voting commences.

Fee Guide Vote – Background Documents

Eligible voting members will be asked to vote on a proposed update to the 2026 BCND fee guide. Over the past several weeks, BCND has reviewed clinic cost drivers using available economic data and clinic information from practices across British Columbia, including factors such as inflation, staffing costs, regulatory fees, supplies, and other operating expenses.

Two adjustment options are being presented this year, 5% and 8%. Both reflect documented increases in clinic operating costs identified through this review.

To support informed decision-making, a briefing note and short summaries outlining the rationale for each option are provided below. Eligible voting members are encouraged to review these materials before casting their vote.

Professional Development

As part of the 2026 AGM, BCND will include a professional development component for members. While the College’s Quality Assurance Program is currently undergoing change as part of the transition to the Health Professions and Occupations Act, BCND remains committed to offering professional development opportunities that support competent, ethical, and informed practice.

The professional development component immediately following the AGM will include a re-broadcast of the March 18, 2026 HPOA question-and-answer session, delivered in collaboration with our colleagues at ATCMA, BCCA, and RMTBC.
